I worked extensively with Jim Godish of Catalyst Consulting Group, on a Check Image Archive vendor selection process at Allfirst Bank in Baltimore, Maryland. Jim brought both a clear process and a great deal of product and vendor insight to the selection effort. He worked with us through the selection of the initial group of potential vendors, the RFP preparation, the presentations and follow-up questioning, the site visits, the down selection to the final group, and then through the scoring and final selection. Along the way he prepared Statements of Understanding and 5 Year Total Cost of Ownership analyses. Jim was clearly vendor neutral throughout the process, and focused all his efforts on helping Allfirst make the selection that would fit it best. He was also very professional in working with me and with the rest of the staff involved in the process at Allfirst, as well as with the vendors. To cover image capture, hand-off from Check to the Archive and the Archive itself, Allfirst actually had to make three separate vendor selections. We made use of Jim’s guidance in all three, and selected a combination that worked out very well for the bank. In the course of working with Jim, it was clear that he has a broad knowledge of best practices and many, many contacts at banks and with vendors across the country. I was, and Allfrist bank was, very happy with the results of working with Jim.
